Dr Hollie Hearfield is a consultant psychiatrist. She has a particular interest in neurodevelopmental disorders including ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder and is passionate about supporting those with these diagnoses. Dr Hearfield has extensive experience in assessing and treating both adults and children. She has worked across a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient settings. She prides herself on her adaptable communication, and she is able to engage with those who may find it difficult to communicate, or find the process of assessment particularly daunting. She is particularly experienced in working with "high masking" individuals including women and girls. She also works closely with people with multiple diagnoses and is confident supporting those with complex presentations. She is a contributor to The Autism Good Practice guidance for The Royal College of Psychiatrists: supporting colleagues to consider the needs of patients with autism to ensure the best possible care in hospital. Dr Hearfield is often complimented on her thoughtful and caring approach.
Dr Hearfield is a published author with publications in a number of prestigious journals, and has also published two books for medical students and junior doctors. She has delivered teaching in a wide variety of settings including undergraduate and postgraduate level courses, and provided international teaching for The World Health Organisation.
Research is a further passion of Dr Hearfield’s and she has produced groundbreaking work on breastfeeding and maternity rights that has been widely published and presented at an international level. Dr Hearfield is proud of her work in women's health. She is an advocate for survivors of domestic abuse, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
Dr Hearfield also runs a consultancy business, offering guidance for neurodiversity and mental health to businesses, educational organisations and media outlets.
Dr Hearfield has further experience in a number of therapeutic modalities including narrative therapy and systemic family therapy. She is trained as an rTMS practitioner.
Dr Hearfield has been featured on TalkTV with Trisha Goddard, London Live, BBC Radio Bristol and BBC Radio Stations in the East of England.
