Dr Vassiliki Papachronopoulou

Dr Vassiliki Papachronopoulou is a Consultant Psychiatrist with extensive experience across both NHS and private practice. She qualified as a medical doctor from the University of Patras, Greece, in 1999 and went on to complete postgraduate training in General Medicine, Neurology and General Adult Psychiatry in both the UK and Greece. She completed her specialist training in 2010 and has practised as a Consultant Psychiatrist since then, working in the NHS since 2017.

Dr Papachronopoulou currently works as a Consultant Psychiatrist within a busy NHS Community Mental Health Team, where she is responsible for the assessment and management of a wide range of complex mental health conditions. These include severe depressive disorder, anxiety disorders including obsessive compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. She has a particular specialist interest and significant clinical experience in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD.

She is an Approved Clinician and Section 12 approved, and also works as an Appraiser, Clinical Educator and Supervisor for medical students, as well as core and specialty psychiatric trainees. In addition, she is a trained cognitive behavioural therapist, with a personal interest in psychodynamic psychotherapy and cognitive analytical therapy.

Dr Papachronopoulou is a compassionate and experienced clinician who places great importance on the therapeutic alliance. She works collaboratively with her patients and is committed to delivering evidence-based, person-centred care tailored to each individual’s needs.
