Nicole Barrow is an experienced ADHD Nurse Specialist and Independent Non-Medical Prescriber, with over a decade of clinical practice across adult mental health, CAMHS, older adults’ services, and neurodevelopmental care.
She is a registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) and NMC registrant (NMC number: 12G1141E). She gained her non-medical prescribing qualification in 2020 at the University of the West of England (UWE) and completed sleep practitioner training in 2022 and Autism assessment training in 2023, supporting a holistic understanding of (Au)ADHD. This enables her to deliver safe, evidence-based medication management alongside comprehensive assessment and follow-up.
Nicole has experience in the diagnosis of autism and works extensively with individuals who present with ADHD alongside co-existing neurodevelopment, mental health and physical health conditions. She has a particular passion for women’s health and supporting individuals with complex or treatment-sensitive presentations, where hormonal factors, sleep disturbance, anxiety, mood disorders and sensory sensitivities can significantly influence ADHD symptoms and treatment response.
Her approach to titration is holistic, collaborative and highly individualised. Nicole places strong importance on aligning titration with a patient’s personal treatment goals and functional priorities, ensuring that medication decisions are meaningful, realistic, and person-centred. She uses a coaching-informed model of ADHD symptom management, supported by ADHD coach training completed in 2024, combining careful pharmacological optimisation with psychoeducation, behavioural strategies, and practical lifestyle advice. Treatment is optimised safely and dynamically where possible, with close attention to tolerability, co-existing conditions, and real-world functioning.
Nicole is committed to collaborative, person-centred care and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to help patients achieve meaningful improvements in focus, regulation, wellbeing, and quality of life.
