Dr Lucy Colbourne

Dr Lucy Colbourne is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Lead for her Liaison Psychiatry Service at South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust. She specialises in adult mental health, with particular expertise at the interface between complex physical health conditions and psychological wellbeing.

After graduating in Medicine from the University of Edinburgh, Dr Colbourne trained in Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN) and Oxford University, where she also completed a Wellcome Trust-funded PhD in psychopharmacology and neuroimaging.

She has extensive experience in assessing and managing a broad range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, psychosis and adult ADHD. Her approach to treatment is holistic, integrated and tailored to each patient’s individual needs. She is accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists as a specialist in General Adult Psychiatry and holds additional endorsement in Liaison Psychiatry.

Dr Colbourne has held various senior roles across education, leadership and quality improvement. She previously served as the London Lead for the European Federation of Psychiatric Trainees and was a National Medical Director’s Clinical Fellow, contributing extensively to mental health service development and improvement initiatives. She regularly teaches medical students and trainees at St George’s, University of London, and her work has been recognised through multiple peer-reviewed publications in leading journals.
