Specialist in ADHD
Dr Georgina Chan is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with a specialist interest in ADHD. She qualified from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and completed her psychiatry training at South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust. It was during her higher training in CAMHS that she found her passion—working with children in the field of ADHD.
Dr Chan has over 20 years of experience as a medical doctor. Before specialising in psychiatry, she worked in a range of medical disciplines including histopathology, public health, and old age medicine. She holds a BSc in Anatomy and Developmental Biology and an MSc in Clinical and Public Health Nutrition, both from University College London. Her academic qualifications also include a Diploma from the Royal College of Pathologists and a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (PGDip CBT) from the University of Oxford. She has contributed to the Royal College of Psychiatrists by writing a learning module on the neuropathology of dementia.
Dr Chan has a long-standing interest in the role of nutrition in both physical and mental health. She is a registered nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition. Between core and higher psychiatry training, she worked for a private company as a medical nutritionist and wellbeing coach, using a holistic approach to support corporate clients in London and Edinburgh.
She is highly experienced in working with children and young people with ADHD and ASD (autism) in both NHS and private settings across London and Oxford. Her particular area of interest lies in supporting individuals and their families throughout the ADHD journey—from assessment through to treatment and across the lifespan. Her integrative approach includes behavioural, lifestyle, psychotherapeutic (especially CBT), and pharmacological strategies. She continues to maintain NHS work supporting children with ADHD.
At Berkeley Psychiatrists, Dr Chan offers ADHD assessments and treatment up to the age of 18 years old.
Outside of work, Dr Chan enjoys spending time with her family—especially when it involves good food prepared by others. A classically trained musician, she hopes to find more time to return to playing the piano.
