Dr Alice Debelle is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with extensive experience in assessing and treating a wide range of mental health difficulties in children and adolescents. She qualified in 2012 from the graduate-entry medical programme at St George's, University of London, having previously completed a BA in Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Cambridge.
Dr Debelle undertook both her core and higher specialist psychiatry training at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, where she worked within the National and Specialist services for Eating Disorders and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She has been a Consultant Psychiatrist since 2021 at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, serving as Joint Clinical Lead for Greenwich CAMHS until 2024. During this time, she led the development of a new transitions pathway supporting young people moving from CAMHS into adult services, ensuring continuity of care for those with complex needs.
She has contributed to the Maudsley Prescribing Guidelines for the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder and body dysmorphic disorder in young people, and is co-author of a chapter on social interventions for children and adolescents in the Oxford Textbook of Social Psychiatry. Her work in Southeast London has given her a deep understanding of the mental health inequalities experienced by racially minoritised communities, and she has been actively involved in collaborative projects, training programmes and national teaching to help address these disparities.
Dr Debelle is a medical appraiser for consultant colleagues and provides clinical supervision for trainee psychiatrists and medical students. She is currently working towards a Graduate Certificate in Family Therapy at King's College London.
She has extensive experience in assessing and treating both common and severe mental health conditions, including significant comorbidities and risk presentations. In addition to her broader clinical work, she specialises in the assessment and treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in children and adolescents.
At Berkeley Psychiatrists, Dr Debelle offers Initial Assessments and ADHD assessments for children and adolescents.
